Hindatu Umar Is Nigeria’s Youngest Female Local Government Chairperson!
Meet Hindatu Umar, a 25-year-old young lady who is making history as the first woman and the youngest person to be a Local Government Chairperson in Arugungu which is located in Kebbi State and it is the bigger local government in Northern Nigeria.
Hindatu reportedly appointed by the Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu is a secondary school graduate and the youngest female to occupy such position in Nigeria. Prior to this new role, she was the deputy to the local chairman and subsequently got promoted when the tenure of the chairman ended.
Although this is a such a welcome development, some criticism also arise citing her age, lack of experience, her educational qualification and the fact that she is a woman as reasons she is not qualified to occupy that position. We say Go Girl!
