IGP directs AIG to relocate to Kaduna
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has directed the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 (AIG), Ballah Nasarawa, to relocate to Kaduna to strengthen security in the state.
The headquarters of the zone which comprises Kaduna, Niger, Nasarawa states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Commands is located in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja.
Arase, while pointing out the need to re-strategize to curb kidnapping and others crimes in Kaduna State, also ordered the redeployment of policemen who had served up to six years in the command with corresponding replacement.
A statement from the Force spokesperson, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, said the IGP directed the AIG to evolve new intelligence gathering and crime fighting techniques to suit the current challenges in the state.
“He also charged the AIG to devise means of halting the incessant kidnapping as well as other forms of crimes and criminality, especially in Jere, Kagarko LGA of the state,” she said.
Kolawole said the IGP also directed the Commissioners of Police in Kogi State and the FCT to improve surveillance and high police visibility in their respective commands, especially along the Abuja-Lokoja-Okene and Kabba-Owo axis, to check rising criminal activities in the areas.
